DEDUCTIVE THEORY CONSTRUCTION
    Getting Started
    Constructing Your Theory
An Example of Deductive Theory: Distributive Justice

This section will illustrate the steps involved in the deductive model of explanation.

We shall look at a formal theory regarding "distributive justice" and see how hypotheses might be logically derived from it.  As you'll see, well-stated theoretical propositions have logical implications, which can then be tested.  In this particular example, you'll be asked to predict patterns of stealing within and between different communities.
